Juanita’s 11 years experience and formal qualifications in industrial design together with her technical aptitude and solid background in mechanics and basic engineering give her an advantage in this demanding field. Juanita’s skills in the visual presentation of information come from practical experience as a designer and illustrator together with a thorough understanding of theoretical concepts.

Her interest in aviation started in childhood and grew into a passion initially through model making and later to physical work on real restoration projects. In her teenage years she became a member of the Australian Society for Aero-Historical Preservation and was actively involved with the restoration of aircraft for the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.

Later she learned to glide but the demands of her design career curtailed this activity. However her involvement and interest in aviation and aircraft continued to be a constant thread through her life. At a major turning point in her design career she decided it was time to turn her passion into her profession.

Due to the perfection of Juanita’s work, leading Australian aviation writer, Stewart Wilson was keen to have her work in his many books on varied aircraft marks. This mutual respect and pursuit for perfection led to them becoming partners in a joint venture to publish Juanita’s aircraft profiles in quality colour prints.

Juanita regularly works with publishers in Australia, the USA and the UK. Her illustrations have appeared in over 25 books and have been reproduced in journals and magazines in Australia, Italy, Germany and the UK. She has also worked on a number of aviation textbooks.
