Caboolture Air Spectacular 2004
Aero Australia trade stand Aero Australia cover poster
AERO Australia's first air show trade stand - so allow us a little latitude to show off a few (poor) images. The big guy is my Uncle Pat who kindly offered his assistance. AERO Australia/Notebook Publications stand without people. Our printers did a great job on the cover blow up - it was visible from the entry gates!
Aero Australia stand Aero Australia's feature cover
This shot shows my mother, Marj and Pat attending the stand while I took photographs and visited people around the show. Thank you to all who visited us - it was fun! How's that for a cover? F-III in you face. And a blow-in from Wee Waa on the stand. Shows are great for catching up with aviation friends around the country.
Catalina ready for take-off Catalina aircraft
HARS Consolidated PBY Catalina ready to leave Caboolture on Monday 17 May after the show. Note the Navy's Sea King large helicopter under the wing at left of photo. It was a great thrill for Mum to get this close to the Cat as she had a real trip in one during WWII from Townsville, where she was stationed with the WAAAF , to Cairns (home).
Catalina taxying Catalina maintenance crew
Classic car

Top; Catalina taxying to join main runway for take-off on the home journey. Four hours to Albion Park, NSW.

Above; A jolly for the honourable treasurer of HARS. Maureen Massey enjoys a short journey across the airfield in this classic beauty. Gordon Glynn does duty as 'butler'. You owe me big time Gordo (and Skids)!

Above right; The trusty HARS team doing the necessary checks and maintenance ahead of the flight home in the Catalina. Your web master made her first visit inside this aircraft today and is one-up on her husband who hasn't even seen it yet!

Caboolture air show crowd
Make sure you keep time for the Caboolture air show in 2006. We're sure it will be bigger and better than this year's show - and that's saying something! All eyes skyward as everyone enjoys the flying displays. You certainly couldn't complain about the amount of flying done over this weekend show. It put many of the professional shows to shame - well done Caboolture Aero Club.
Drover taxying Drover aircraft warming up
Sandy Howard and group taxy up to fuel the de Havilland Drover prior to take-off for home, Bankstown Aviation Museum, Bankstown Airport, Sydney. The Drover is being warmed up, note webmasters car to left of aircraft . Wish the car had been able to get home in the same time it took the Drover!
F-III canopy display Des and Kathleen Porter
Who wants to join the RAAF and fly an F-III? This is about as close as most of us can aspire to this specialist job. This cockpit was one of the many displays at the show. Des and Kathleen Porter, proud owners of the Grand Champion award winning Dragon at the Antique Aeroplane Association National Fly-in. A Caboolture based delight.
RAAF Hercules aircraft Piper Seminole
Kids just love a military aircraft they can get relatively close to. I'd like to thank the team of this RAAF Hercules for taking the time to 'wing waggle' on departure for Richmond - it received a huge cheer and wave from us all . Piper Australia's stand. A new Seminole waiting for an owner. You could do not better than to speak to Danielle Maxwell about this aircraft. It was lovely to see an enthusiastic young lady aircraft sales person. Well done Piper Australia.
