Caboolture
Air Spectacular 2004

| Ag
Tractor starting its display at the wonderful Caboolture Air Spectacular. |
Mat
Denning in his beloved Boomerang. He has been thrilling crowds since
he completed the mammoth restoration of this historic aircraft. |
 |
 |
| Pip
Borman in a rare moment of straight and level flight! Pip made a last
minute dash to Cabootlure at the request of the organisers to fill in
for a late retirement. Such skill! |
HARS'
Consolidated Catalina in the 'Black Cat' markings taxying for its display
at Caboolture. Hundreds lined up to see inside this new acquisition. |
 |
 |
| A
more stately era of flight - we never tire of seeing these stately ladies
of the sky. The Douglas DC-3 ruled the skies for such a long time it is delightful
to be able to appreciated them today at most air shows. We're spoiled. |
de
Havilland Drover and Tiger Moth as part of the fly past of the Antique
Aircraft Association's part in the weekend activities. AERO Australia
magazine sponsored the Drover's Caboolture trip - everyone loves de
Havillands! |
 |
 |
| The
perenniel Australian show favourite, the RAAF's pride and joy, the F-III.
Look and weep because 'they' are guning to take this delightful aircraft
away from us before its time is finished. There's much life in this bird
yet! |
Another
classic historic aircraft which excites the passions of most aviation
enthusiasts, the North American Mustang. The shape and sound of this
machine is appreciated by most show goers - good we have many on the
register now. |
 |
 |
| Two
RAN Squirrells from Oakey doing a run along the tree line of the Caboolture
airport. Good to see the Navy air team taking part ina local show - should
be more of it. |
The
RAAF Roulettes flying one of its almost daily air show displays. The
PC-9s certainly do a tough schedule of events around the country - pity
about the sun! |
 |
 |
| A
very different view of the Stearman at Caboolture. Looks as if our photographer
is on the tail as it is taking to the sky. |
Oops!
A slight incident as this Stinston was doing its take-off run on
Saturday afternoon. No damage to the aircraft exterior or pilot. |
 |
 |
| Looks
graceful, doesn't it? Well it wasn't, this is the runaway student and
he was doing dreadful things to this delicate historic aircraft. But
the Qld Police caught him! |
The
Russians are coming! A Yak-3 flying a lovely display at Caboolture. We
were treated to a wonderful diversity of warbirds at this show. |
