Australian International Airshow 2003, 14-16 February, Avalon Airport, Vic - Lockheed Super Constellation attended and flew routines during the Friday 'Night Alight' show and on both Saturday and Sunday. The Connie also did many corporate sponsor flights over the show period. Connie's engine flames lived up to expectations during the night show - a matter of pride for the crew and a spectacular sight for show attendees! HARS Family Open Day 7 July 2002 - A hugely successful day for HARS. Somewhere between 4,500 and 5,000 people attended, many more than expected. Lucky local competition winners enjoyed a joy flight on the Connie - they were the envy of all those watching. Connie did three flights during the day so the crews could do training and the passengers could enjoy a trip back in time. The Dakota C-47 and Albatross L-39 also did joy flights. Albion Park hasn't seen so much activity for a long time. The Tiger Moth, Cessna C-180, Winjeel were on static display. The Tiger Moth and Cessna had to stay at Albion Park as the winds back at Bankstown were too strong for these delicate aircraft. John Cleary kindly made space available in his hangar to protect the aircraft. The HARS souvenir shops did a roaring trade despite the strong cold winds. The airport restaurant also had an extremely good day and is looking forward to the museum opening. A few photographs. |
